CulturalPreserve.com
supports the preservation of at-risk cultural resources by working with
existing projects. We provide a continuum of support activities that
range from publicizing the project's mission to promoting appreciation
of the at-risk resources to providing a digital archive to share and
support those resources.
CulturalPreserve.com's program has five overlapping services that not only provide an effective platform for the project but also are a means of sharing the cultural resource with anyone, anywhere who can reach the Web. The five activities are: 1. Develop a Project Web Site to publicize issues and activities, share the value of the project, and solicit support for project goals and activities. 2. Develop a Digital Archive to document the project and archive the resources it seeks to preserve in a Web format that can be shared instantly, world-wide 3. Develop operations and technology skills among project staff to enable transfer of Web Site and Digital Archive management to local personnel. 4. Develop an Educational Internet Portal that focuses on the project and the cultural resources it seeks to preserve in the context of standard curricular focus and activities. Initially this educational portal targets English-speaking students but is structured for ready conversion to the local language and culture. 5. Develop a Cultural Internet Portal oriented to those seeking to learn more about the resource and its cultural context. This portal shares information of an educational nature that focuses on the medium, disciplines, performers, and general characteristics of the resources being preserved. |
